CURRENT PROGRAMS
Intensive English Teacher Training Program in Korea
IESC also proposed and implemented a less costly alternative to the programs offered in the past. It is an intensive program for Korean English teachers and is based in Korea. Our intensive, month-long program allows participants to learn both inside and outside of the classroom. Teachers are encouraged to socialize and initiate private tutorials with their ESL instructors throughout the course. Our ESL-certified teachers (brought to Korea by IESC) are talented musicians, actors, and artists who supply innovative and entertaining ways of learning. Students and teachers spend five days a week together in the classroom and during meal times, and lodge in the same dormitory. The daytime program consisted of five structured academic courses. The evening classes were designed for improving English through loosely organized activities including: songs, dance, games, and drama. Every day program started with morning songs, and ended with fun and play. The end of the program was celebrated with a party and skit presentations. Yearbooks were compiled by the teachers and students to denote the highlights of classroom and group activities.
Given this structure, relationships form quickly, and students are willing to take risks and fully engage in the highly interactive, theatrical exercises. In short, we offer a dramatic approach to learning English.
